So, it’s brought to my attention that it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. It wasn’t intentional – really, it wasn’t.

See, I’ve been distracted. Over the last two weeks, I’ve been so busy at work, I haven’t been able to pay attention to you, the few loyal readers I have left. Between the two or three major projects that have been coming due, all the day-to-day work, and the little matter of having to move our offices from one building on the ETS campus to another, I’ve been pulled in about 20 different directions. Thankfully, I’m all moved into my new cubicle (or, as ETS likes to call them, “pods” – boy, doesn’t that sound “friendly”?), and there’s just unpacking to deal with. Plus, there’s this holiday, with the turkey, and the stuffing, and the…*drool*

Now, granted, I haven’t been at work ALL the time – I’ve seen a couple of movies (“Die Another Day”, which I really liked, and “Punch-Drunk Love” which I really didn’t), I endured a game of Risk with Darren and Ward, and there’s been much playing of the Mechassault. But, as you’ll notice, those activities have me away from the PowerBook. Hense, not very much in the way of updatey goodness.

That should change in the next couple of weeks. Plenty of time off. Parties parties parties. And all those holidays. All that means pictures. There are a ton of movies to be see, which means a ton of movies to review (and possibly rip apart). And Becca will be home! So many updates to come. And, no doubt, some photos to caption.

Russell Crowe in restaurant ‘brawl’

And I say that only because, for every “malicious hacker” out there, there’s a 16 year old kid playing around in VB, not meaning any harm. And this bill would land them both life in prison, if if I’m reading this correctly.

Following Spike’s lead, here are pictures from Jen’s Birthday Brunch this past Sunday. I love this girl!

We haven’t done this in a while, so…

So, I just got done watching possibly the greatest bad movie ever…

…and now I’ve got the Haunting Torgo Theme stuck in my head. Just great.

I ended up being 20 minutes late for work this morning because some idiot decided to pull up in front of my parking spot outside the apartment and leave their car there for at least a half hour. Despite the abundance of empty parking spots.

Hear me, white Saturn coupe with Maryland plates: I will destroy you.

So, as Spike noted earlier, radio host Glenn Beck is going to do a live “recreation” of H.G. Welles’ ‘War of the Worlds’, based on the classic 1938 Mercury Theatre mindfuck.

While I admire anyone who wants to bring back, even for a moment, the days when radio was not only live and spontaneous, but also the premiere form of popular entertainment, I have to ask…what was wrong with the original broadcast that it needs to be “recreated”? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just getting old. Or maybe I’m just a purist.

Next I suppose I’m going to find out that someone’s preparing a 20th anniversary tribute/cover album of Van Halen’s “1984”.

1. What is your favorite scary movie?
The Shining (1980).

2. What is your favorite Halloween treat?
Don’t have one.

3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween costume.
Nope…

4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?
…nope…

5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?
…nope.

I’m not really sure why I bothered this week.

According to this News.com article, “…a July ruling by a Federal Court of Australia judge who found that mod chips sold for Sony’s PlayStation 2 game machine do not violate federal copyright rules outlawing devices primarily intended to bypass copyright-protection technology. The Australian rules are similar to the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act.”

Interesting…

Of course, it’s worth noting that, as a result of the ruling, Steve Ballmer may pull the XBox from the Aussie market until the legal system provides better copyright protection. But, come on. That won’t really happen. Will it? Tune in tomorrow…
