News on the “Vacation that Wasn’t” front: Ticketmaster UK has actually refunded the money I spent on advance theater tickets. What’s more, when I called this morning, I actually got through to a human being before my beard grew in, and the gentleman (I think his name was Andrew) was genuinely nice! I tell you, it was like night and day compared to Ticketmaster US. So thank you to the nice people at Ticketmaster UK for making this a little less painful.
Rhetorical Question: How depressed must I be right now if I’m eating Gummi Bears at 9:21 in the morning?
It’s just not in me today. Normally, a day at work like this one would be fairly routine. Nothing major happening, a few people out of the office, no big deal. I had thought today was going to pass quickly, in anticipation of London. Instead, I find myself more and more disheartened as I settle back into the daily grind as usual for the week. Plus, all day today I’ve had to explain to the people I work with why the vacation was cancelled. And on top of all that, I’m going to have to do something really immoral to get back ANY money that I spent on the airfare/hotel. I can’t wait to find out what comes next.
In other weekend news, I saw about 3/4 of “Brotherhood of the Wolf” on Friday night. I’m still not entirely sure of what I thought of the movie. Granted, I really didn’t understand the conclusion, as I had to leave the theater about 1 hour in to take a cell phone call (ugh), but still… I will, however, say this. The French? They are some really screwed-up people. (I mean, the whore’s naked breast dissolving into a hillside?) There was, however, some excellent violence, and rather casual nudity, so it wasn’t a total loss, even if there was an utter lack of stuff that done blowed up real good. And the subtitles never really bothered me. (Although there was a character called Chivalier, and you have no idea how hard it was to resist going “Haw-haw-haw” ever time he was mentioned. Maybe I’ll save that for the MST3K version.) Overall, tho, an enjoyable film, even if I wasn’t in any mood to enjoy the ending.
My life just plain sucks right now.
The vacation is on hold. Long story that I really am in no mood to go into here. But I’m really mad at my travelling companion, even though I probably shouldn’t be.

Hmm. I haven’t posted anything in a while, have I? I need to get cracking…
Well, let’s see…what’s going on with me? Well, I’m going to London again next week. I’ll be in foggy ol’ London town for a full week, seeing as many shows as possible, taking in the sights, and covertly looking for a job. (Well, maybe not so much on the last one, but I would love to live in London.) The camera is packed, and I’ll be posting pictures when I get back (as soon as I get them back from CVS, that is). Also, I hope to be posting travelogue-style updates all week, providing I can find an internet cafe or something similar close to my hotel.
In the meantime, everyone start thinking about what you want me to bring back for you. =)
This is good. From The Digital Bits, this is the back cover of a really bad bootleg DVD found in Hong Kong.

Because I just can’t resist…

Star Wars: Episode II | Teaser Trailer: Forbidden Love
So here’s the latest (so I’m told) teaser for Episode II. I have to admit, so far it’s looking a lot more promising than Episode I did (save for the title…ugh). I’m still not totally sold on the “digital sets”, but maybe they’ll look better in 70mm than they do on the screen of my PowerBook.

Passenger pans airline after toilet ordeal
A plane passenger is giving bottom marks to an airline – after getting sealed to a toilet seat for more than two hours during a trans-Atlantic flight.
The American woman used the toilet, but pushed the flush button before standing up.
