So, it’s August, and I’m officially “living” somewhere else. Except I’m not.

The way I planned the move into the Apartment of Fun, it was supposed to go in three stages:

1) Furniture.
2) Stuff & Things.
3) Me.

Phase one (ideally) should have been completed tonight, but a delay at IKEA and an errant rainstorm meant holding off another day to build my shelving. Other than that, I just need to get my dresser over there so I can begin phase two. Military precision this ain’t. But I’m getting there. Friday is my target…

Oh, and Becca‘s home!

This article pretty much sums up how I feel about commercial radio in general. Specifically…

Since the radio station doubtlessly realized that bowling shirts and football jerseys and zany expressions probably weren’t enough to cinch the deal, the billboard offered one final inducement to get people to tune into John and Frank. It featured a cartoon dog pointing a cartoon gun at our cartoon heroes and the words, “Listen — Or They Get It.”

I don’t think I need to explain to regular readers of TeeVee — folks who laugh at the failure of others and routinely call for the scalps of those whose lack of talent offends our sense of right and wrong — the folly of an ad campaign that ties an increased listening audience with sparing the lives of the drive-time Morning Zoo Crew. Because if all that’s standing between two wacky DJs and their murder at the hands of a ruthless dog assassin is me tuning in on a regular basis, then I’m sorry, fellas, but you’d best phone up your next of kin and make your peace with God.

Yoni Cordon, 19, of Philadelphia, an employee of the Kargher Corp. in Hatfield Township, apparently tumbled from a platform into the 7-foot-deep vat, which is used for mixing and melting chocolate.

Maybe he should have yelled “fire”. Because clearly, no one came to save him when he yelled “CHOCOLATE!!!”.

…moving out of my parents house. (Sorry, Billy. Couldn’t resist appropriating the lyric.)

This was the thing I didn’t want to post about earlier in the week – mainly because I didn’t want to jinx it. So, after all is said and done, it looks like Spike, Denise (who doesn’t get a link because she hasn’t blogged in almost two months), Ward (who doesn’t have a blog…yet) and myself will be sharing a lovely apartment over at Avalon Run in about a week’s time. Now there’s just the little matter of setting up all the utilities, packing, doing the change of address thing, moving, unpacking, and buying lots of lovely expensive things for the apartment. (Well, maybe not *that* expensive. Except maybe for this.)

It’s going to be interesting.

Sorry I haven’t posted much (at all) this week – it has been a busy and eventful week, and hopefully I should have some news soon. For now, though, just pretend I’m not here and look at Jennifer Garner some more.

Need another reason to see “Daredevil” next spring?

73460 on Timed Mode. I really should get out more.

*dance of joy*
I’ve been saying it to everyone who didn’t like series 6 of “Buffy” – “TRUST JOSS”.

Today’s link to Eh… brings you The Saga of Princeton Rep.
Rated PG-13 for major annoyance, irresponsible business practices, and one instance of “go screw themselves”.
No one will be admitted during the “woofer sequence”.

(There’s no real accompanying story for this title – it’s just stuck in my head from watching “1776” on Wednesday. Also, it WAS hot as hell on Thursday…)

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post, but I’ve been trying for a generally computer-free weekend. But, with the spectre of work tomorrow lingering over my head, I thought I’d pop on and share some
photos from the festivities at Darren’s place on Thursday. The BBQ was a lot of fun (putting aside the blistering heat), and it was great to see some faces I hadn’t seen in a really long time. Also, as Darren pointed out earlier, we FINALLY got to see “Men in Black II” on Thursday night. And yes, there was a kick-ass “Two Towers” trailer. And I’ll be damned if that trailer didn’t almost make me want to see the film. Afterward, there was much blowing up of the zombies, much eating of the Trzesinski Treats, and much kicking of my ass in Halo deathmatch mode. (I really need to work on that last bit.)

The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxing – Friday was a lazy evening back at Casa de Sussman, enjoying some leftovers and the (suddenly) lovely weather; Saturday and Today were spent being generally lazy around the house, taking care of laundry and other around-the-house stuff. Happy birthday, America.
