take dems and reps, dems have a platform based on being inclusive (which often cause problems for them like lack of focus, etc)
so someone that is a strong democrat probably has some strong ideas about being inclusive
reps, representing old rich white men and bible thumpers tend to be an exclusive party which gives them great focus but makes it hard to swell their numbers (they let the evangelicals do that work for them)
perhaps a republican is more likely to enjoy exclusive groups?
anyway, it’s true that your political affiliation does not define your personality, but knowing this about a person can certainly help you peg their personality
I think it’s less the political affiliation and more the conservative or liberal leaning that defines your personality, and since they also often (but not always) define your political affiliation, we just assume that it’s all connected.
