So, I haven’t been the most prolithic blogger the last few weeks. This much is certain. I have no excuses for you – I’ve just been lazy.
So what’s been happening with me? Hmm…
I’m working on a show. Well, kinda. A friend of mine asked me to call her show for her. And hey, work is work. All I know about it at this point is that it’s called “‘Found”, we tech Sunday and Monday and open on Tuesday for 5 nights. If there’s a script, I sure as heck haven’t seen it.
There was dinner last week on Stacey‘s birthday. That was fun. I ate buffalo for the first time. At least, that’s what I’m told. I really couldn’t taste any difference. But Jen says it’s good for me, and I always listen to Jen (or else she’ll hit me upside the head – which hurts.)
I’ve been sleeping. A lot. Ah, sleep. There, I am a viking. I don’t quite understand why, but lately I’ve been sleeping even more than usual. Last Friday night, I came home from work, fell asleep at about 8pm, and didn’t wake up until around 2pm on Saturday afternoon. (Apparently several cell phone calls and loud door knocking failed to rouse me.) I don’t quite understand why I’ve been so tired, but that’s the primary reason there haven’t been any new re-views of late. Also, due to EXTREME SLEEPING! I missed several lunches and Fat Cat opportunities when Becca was home.
I know why there are interstate highways in Hawaii. Finally peeved enough by that Honda commercial, I turned to the internet to find the answer to this riddle. One Google search later, I found my answer: Hawaii has three (well, FOUR, technically) highways built as part of the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways. And since Hawaii’s three major freeways connect military installations, they qualify for the network and are signed as Interstates H-1, H-2, and H-3. (H-3, completed in full in 1997, is the highway used in the commercial, and is said to have some outstanding views.) There is, according to the information I have found, no plans for a bridge or tunnel to the mainland. (Yet.) Yet more useless knowledge crammed into my brain.
And, oh yeah, I’m buying a condo. This isn’t such a new development to most of you, and I would have posted about this earlier, but it turned out that the first place I signed a contract for was a certified Money Pit, of the Tom Hanks/Shelley Long variety. I have since broken that contract and have found another, much better cared-for condo in Canal Pointe – at least, that’s what I’m hoping the inspection on Thursday verifies for me. I’m keeping my fingers crossed until then. At some point, I’ll put up some “before” pictures and the floor plan. If all goes well, we close on July 10 – this doesn’t give me a whole lot of time to get the necessary work done (floors, lighting fixtures, painting, etc.) prior to when we have to be out of the Apartment o’ Fun on July 31, but I’m confident that we’ll make it. (Don’t be surprised if you read something about a painting party and/or a call for moving help in this space next month…)
That’s pretty much everything for now. Presuming I don’t get distracted by a shiny object, I’ll be posting more often.
uh-oh… what shiny object is distracting you now?
