Not much to say today. Work was pretty hateful today, but there’s not much I can do about that.

Oh – if you have a DVD or PS2, you should definately check out “Clerks: Uncensored”.

That’s about it for right now. Oh – Handspring debuted the Visor Edge today. It’s kinda cool-looking.

Episode 4 of The Critic is online.

Star Wars Starfighter
I just picked up this game tonight, and I have to say that this game absolutely kicks ass. This is where we start to see the promise of the PS2 – the actual gameplay is just as sharp and well detailed as the movie cut-scenes. EVERY button on the controller gets used (in a practical way). And the graphics just literally knocked me out of my seat. This is where it’s going folks.

15 Minutes
Despite the fact that Harry “Everything in FONT size=’+4′” Knowles seemed to like this movie, I really want to see it.

M-D’s Random Action Doppler 97000 Weather Update:
Rain. It’s RAINING. It was supposed to be snow, but instead it’s smegging rain.

Is it really so much to ask that the weather people get even THAT MUCH of the forecast right? They’re 0 for 3 this week.

M-D’s Random Action Doppler 97000 Weather Update:

Doppler Radar at 300 miles out. Map pilfered from the Weather Channel. If I’ve done this right, the map should update whenever it’s updated on weather.com – I hope.

As you can see from the Doppler maps above, there are storms headed our way – there’s a possibility that we could be hit by Son of Not Blizzard of 2001 sometime tonight or tomorrow. No real commentary here – just a public service.

TiVo Update:
Well, I was right. Sony needs for TiVo to download new remote codes into the unit (via the TiVo system software) for it to control my VCR. But I’ll say this – it was nice that they already knew about the problem and were working with TiVo to resolve it – I’ll have the functionality I seek by the end of the month. Go TiVo go!

Bargains ‘R’ Me
Heads up, anyone who is looking for a bargain on a really good digital camera. CompUSA is advertising the Olympus D490 Zoom for $349, more than $100 less than it’s list price. But that’s not the good part here. Take the ad to another store – one with a price-matching policy, like Circuit City, and ask them to match the price. That’s what I did tonight, and I ended up getting my mother a brand new $450 2 Megapixel digital camera for $330. And I’ve got a raincheck for one at CompUSA – in case I decide to go back and get one for myself… =)

The longest week in existence trudges on.

Now it seems that tomorrow night, we’re supposed to get…(wait for it…)…SNOW! Naturally, this time the weather idiots are taking no chances – they’re not even hazarding a guess on how much snow we’re going to get until the storm is actually on top of us.

Wanna know what I think? I think that THIS storm will be the big scary blizzard, and it’ll take everyone – EVERYONE – by surprise.

So, I’ve got this Sony TiVo unit, right? And it’s supposed to be able to remote control any Sony VCR, right? Well, my old Toshiba VCR was on it’s last legs, and I saw an advert for a Sony VCR for $99. So I figure, “might as well”.
Well, the VCR works fine, but the TiVo doesn’t seem to want to control it. I’m hoping it’s just a matter of updating the control codes (it’s a brand new model VCR, so maybe the TiVo needs new remote codes) – because if it’s not…well, let’s just say I’ll be very unhappy.
