The next time I complain about Americans taking TV too seriously, someone please remind me of this…
Zap2it.com: French Protesters Try to Free ‘Loft Story’ Contestants
FYI: In America, ‘Loft Story’ is known as ‘Big Brother’.

Ok, so I know I’ve been bad – I haven’t really posted much this week. But I haven’t spent as much time in front of the computer over the last few days as I normally would – I’ve been enjoying my week away from the workforce. I’m sure I’ll have more to point out and laugh at as this week gets going.

This one seemed oddly appropriate, especially considering the proponderance of people willing to share their dreams on the internet…

…and this one just made me laugh. From the 29 April issue of The Onion:

So, as many of you know, I was “released” by the Giant Corporate Overlord this week. I was sort of angry for a while, then depressed, then angry again, then a little hungry, then sleepy. But I’ve come to realize that maybe this is just life’s way of giving me a little (or, in my case, a swift) kick in the hinder and telling me that it’s time to get back to doing what I love doing, what I miss doing, the only thing that’s made me truly happy for as long as I remember. Sorry I’ve been absent today – but something’s cooking. I don’t want to get into too many details yet (because, with my luck, I’ll jinx it), but with any luck I’ll be able to tell you soon…cross your fingers for me.

News Askew is reporting that the release date for “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” has been pushed back until August 24. But it’s really a good thing.

So what is “J&SBSB” about? Scott Mosier told Newsweek:”It’s sort of like ‘The Muppet Movie.’ Only without the Muppets. And rated R.” I can’t wait.

Trebek: “Mr. Travolta, here is your Audio Daily Double clue. Name this continent.”
(Voiceover: “ASIA!”)
[Travolta stares blankly]
Trebek: “Mr. Travolta?”
(Voiceover: “ASIA!”)
[Travolta stares blankly – times up signal sounds]
Trebek: “The answer was ‘Asia’. Asia.”

I don’t know why, but this bit never fails to make me laugh.
