Yawn.

Bored. So very bored.

It’s not that I don’t have quite a lot to do, it’s just that I’m bored doing it. Makes me wish for long weekends every week.

(Plus, I don’t have Darren here to keep me entertained this afternoon. Maybe that’s it.)

Yawn. 2 1/2 hours to go until the end of the day.

Well, the good news is that Excite@Home hasn’t crapped out just yet. The bad news is that it hangs like a spectre over my head, and I don’t know when I’ll be without internet from home.

Also, it just recently occurred to me that, while I have a modem and a valid Earthlink username, I deleted everything off my computer related to my old dial-up connection – including the program I had been using for said connection. Oops.

Today is November 30, 2001.

The expected high temperature in New York City today is somewhere between 65 and 70 degrees.

This is, without a doubt, fucked up.

Finding a backup to Excite@Home
Excite@Home, which filed for bankruptcy last month, said earlier this week that it could shut off its service to cable companies as early as Friday.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

Finally Getting Some Air…

The four of you who read this page on a regular basis have probably been wondering where the hell I’ve been over the last month or so. (Even I was shocked to realize that I hadn’t posted anything since 11/7!) Well, here’s the lowdown…

The middle of October saw me going right from 15+ hour days at work straight into rehearsals for “Seven Keys”, which is finally up and running. It’s actually been up and running for about two weeks, but with the holiday and all, it’s been tough getting back into a pattern. Toss in the fact that I haven’t had all that much time at work to post to ye olde blog, and there you have it.

In the meantime, I’ve seen an uncle I haven’t seen in 13 years, taken my truck into the shop for three days, prompting the Amazing Rental Car Experience (I swear, if I ever meet the man who designed the 2001 Chevy Cavalier, I will punch him. In the face.), driven back and forth from NYC about a million times, and experienced new and unheard of forms of sleep deprivation. Sure, I may complain every now and then, but truth be told, I love every minute. It just takes it’s toll, that’s all I’m saying.

Hopefully, now that I’m a little more settled, I’ll be getting back to my regular posting routine. Yes, I am fully aware that I said the same thing a few weeks ago, but I REALLY mean it this time. Really.

New software, sold separately, will give the AIBO 200 series the ability to recognize more voice commands than predecessors (75 instead of 50) and take JPEG format pictures when it’s in “surveillance mode.” He’ll have expanded wireless LAN capability through a PC connection, so an owner can control or maneuver him from distances of up to 300 feet. Like other Aibo robots, he has a digital camera inside his head.

With the new AIBO Life 2 software ($90), an owner could choreograph an AIBO 220 robot to move to any tune–even “Bad to the Bone,” the 1980s hit by George Thorogood.

Powerpuff DVD packs viral punch
The newest disc featuring the cartoon sensations from Warner Home Video boasts PC games, an exclusive cartoon and…the “FunLove” virus.

I guess I owe everyone an explanation as to where I’ve been for the better part of the last few weeks. Well, the long story short is that between working really long days at the office and starting rehearsals for “Seven Keys”, I’ve been both busy and beat. Also, that hasn’t left me much time to blog. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to remedy that soon

Incidentally, “Seven Keys” is a comedy based on “Seven Keys to Baldpate” by George M. Cohan. We’re still in the blocking stages, but it should be quite good, once it all comes together. We open on November 16 at the CSV Cultural Center in Manhattan. Check it out.
