I&#8217;m waiting to hear about something pretty important, and I guess it&#8217;s been weighing on my mind.<\/p>\n<p><i>From the &#8220;No Good Deed Goes Unpunished&#8221; department:<\/i><br \/>\nMy pal Jeremy was suspended from his job for two days.  He&#8217;s a security guard for the retirement villages down in Brick, and he&#8217;s probably the most reliable guy they&#8217;ve got.  He&#8217;s always there, never leaves his post, will work double shifts (no questions asked), and is always willing to cover for another guard.  So why was he suspended?  He was <b>ten minutes late<\/b> on Saturday.  Apparently the owner of his company wanted to fire him on the spot, but the office staff talked her down.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that the owner wanted to make an example out of Jeremy.  Never mind the fact that the turnover rate at their company is astronomical, never mind the fact that they&#8217;re losing villages because of inept staff.  None of that&#8217;s important, as long as she can make an example out of Jeremy.  People like this owner deserve to be loaded into a cannon and shot into an active volcano.
