The stage lighting is muted and the whole space is filled with a red glow. \u00a0In front of you stands a solitary microphone and an audience made up of an equal mix of friends and strangers. \u00a0And you’re about to tell them something true and personal.<\/p>\n

This is Fray Cafe 12.<\/em><\/p>\n

Recorded live at Austin’s\u00a0Red Eyed Fly<\/a> on March 11, 2012 during SXSW Interactive and hosted by the inimitable Kevin Smokler<\/a>, Fray Cafe is an intimate evening of storytelling that continues the tradition of f<\/a>ray.com<\/a>, created by Derek Powazek<\/span>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The evening has\u00a0only three rules:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Your story must be true.<\/li>\n
  2. Your story must be personal and feature yourself as a central character.<\/li>\n
  3. Your story cannot be a plug for anything.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Special thanks to everyone who came out and made the evening a huge success, and to the management and staff of the Red Eyed Fly for continuing to host our poky little storytelling show. \u00a0And a special shout-out to\u00a0everyone who donated to ensure the continuation of Fray Cafe @ SXSW!<\/p>\n
